I haven’t done a Top Ten Tuesday post in a while, but I thought I’d try and do some low-effort versions this month since I’m super busy with my thesis but still want to be able to post here.
This week’s prompt is Book Titles That Include the Word “[insert word of your choice here]” and I thought I would pick the word “sun”.
Although I’m not a fan of the heat, I love sunlight. Sun streaming through the windows and lighting up the room, sunset, sunrise – all of it. However, it turns out I have fewer books on my shelves with the word “sun” in the title than I thought and this is a low-effort post so I didn’t want to search for other books I might be interested in as well.
Then I remembered… “sun” is just the name of a specific star! And I love stars too. So even though “sun” and “star” is technically two words… they’re almost the same thing!

The Sun and Her Flowers and I’ll Give You the Sun were two of my favourite books in sixth form and secondary school respectively, so I’m really happy they are on this list! I’ve read The Brightest Light of Sunshine as well, and I just remember it being a fun romance but nothing that particularly stuck with me.
Thirteen Months of Sunrise and She Who Became the Sun are both on my TBR.

The Starless Sea is one of my favourite books in terms of prose, even though I’d be hard-pressed to tell you what the story was (very much vibes > plot). Under Fortunate Stars was one of the first space opera types books I read about 4 years ago and then I was hooked – I really need to go back and reread it though, since I don’t remember it well.
The Stardust Grail, The Last Stargazers, and The Map of Salt and Stars are all still on my TBR.
Have you read any of these books?
What are your favourite books with the word “sun” or “star” in the title?
Keira x
