February 2026 Wrap Up

February is over
March has begun
I’ve had this post ready for days
But it was never the one.

Aka – I had a bunch of stuff that needed posting this week and so this one got pushed off until now in my attempt to avoid posting multiple times a day. Oops? TBR will come tomorrow.

Overview from the Storygraph

I definitely did better at reading consistently towards the end of the month. If you want to read my thoughts (think reading vlog but blog style) on my best reading day check out this post.

Books Read

I managed to read six books this month, including one ARC and one book that I started at the beginning of January. I didn’t quite make it to all the books on my TBR (you can definitely see some books being carried over to my March TBR), but I’m still quite happy with my final push at the end of the month that managed to get a lot of books that had been a bit slow-going ticked off my list. And I even ended up mostly enjoying all the books I read this month!

  • The Forgetting Navigations by Marlee Jane Ward | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Review)
  • Ancillary Mercy by Ann Leckie | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Review)
  • Witch Hat Atelier Vol 1 by Kamome Shirahama | ⭐⭐⭐.5
  • Artificial Condition (Murderbot Diaries #2) by Matha Wells | ⭐⭐⭐.5
  • Show Me Where It Hurts by Claire Gleeson | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Review)
  • Poyums by Len Pennie | ⭐⭐⭐.5 (Review coming soon)

Books Progressed or DNF’d

Apart from the books I finished, I also made a bit of progress through three others. Two Women Living Together is a buddy read with a friend that we had initially intended to finish in February but have since extended into March since we’ve both been busy. I also did a little bit more reading into the Save the Cat! beat sheet and finally started tackling the mound of dissertation reading I have to do by reading the first chapter of Women in Imperial China by Bret Hinsch – I really need to make a more concerted effort to get some dissertation reading done in March.

I also DNF’d one book this month: The Legend of Lady Byeoksa by Esther Park. It’s actually not a book that I read at all this month, although I had previously read 70 pages last summer. It was originally supposed to be going on my TBR for March, since the English translation is coming out soon (mine is the German translation). However, I was reading some reviews of it and ended up deciding to DNF. You can find my full reasoning here.

On the Blog

I made a decent amount of posts this month, although I still didn’t quite post as regularly as I might have liked.

Reviews

I posted two standalone reviews and one mini reviews post in February, as well as posts for the Ancillary Mercy read-a-long (which are great fun but full of spoilers, so beware).

Around the Blogosphere

I had a great time reading the responses to the Ancillary Mercy read-a-long questions each week! Apart from that, some of my favourite posts this month include:

  • Briana @Pages Unbound‘s What Makes A Good Cosy Fantasy? – She basically made all the points I wanted to make for me (and if you add in my comment then there’s really no need for me to make my own post on the topic… although, never say never).
  • Lin @Whimsical Woodland Wanderer‘s Webtoon Series That Have My Heart This Valentine’s – I really want to get into reading more webtoons or webnovels (since a lot of webtoons are based on a webnovel), so this was a fun post to read.
  • Gem @Gem’s Book Talk‘s review of Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter – I’ve been wondering what people would think of this book and I always enjoy Gem’s reviews!
  • Emma @Pages of Emma‘s discussion on book collections – We have interestingly different but not conflicting views on book collecting and we had a good discussion about the other things we collect as well.

Song of the Month

To finish off the wrap up, here is what I’ve been listening to this month:

I rewatched The Martian movie (it’s probably my favourite film actually) and it always makes me put this song on repeat for a bit:

This is one that I’ve loved since it came out four years ago but found myself coming back to this month:

What was your favourite book of the month?

If you did a wrap up post of your feel free to link it in the comments and I’ll check it out!
