ten of my favourite teas

ten of my favourite teas

Top Ten Tuesday is a bookish meme originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt was originally a non-bookish freebie but was then changed because it was close to the previous one – since I didn’t do it last time and I had already thought of an idea, I’m sticking with the non-bookish freebie and sharing some of my favourite teas!

I love tea – and everything related to tea. I have a steadily growing collection of teas, teacups, teapots etc. etc. in both the Chinese and British style. When I was living in Taiwan I went to all the teaware shops and I even volunteered on a tea farm for a few days in Korea back in June.

I’m by no means an expert, but the following are some of my favourite teas, tea blends and tisanes! All perfect for pairing with a book (or if you’re like me, pairing with every possible activity – including writing this blog post! Bonus: I’m currently drinking a black tea and lavender flower blend)! Tea also works quite well as a Christmas/birthday gift if you need some ideas!

In case you’re not familiar with the variety of teas out there, here is a handy little graphic I found organised on degrees of fermentation. Generally – but not always – more fermentation means a stronger flavour. Different types of tea within the same category can have vastly different flavours, so the teas below are more specific types. When I know the specific tea used I will write it, but sometimes they don’t tell you (:() in which case I’ve linked to the specific brand I like! Hopefully this helps!

I don’t take my tea with milk ever but for reference – most of these are no-milk kinds of teas except for the chocolate digestives black tea which you can take with or without. (The plain black tea is better without milk as it is a Chinese-style tea; the leaves are bigger and have less tannins (bitter taste!) than the Indian teas which we often get in the UK, which is why Indian chai has milk and herbs whilst Chinese tea is traditionally drank without milk!)

I’m definitely more of a coffee drinker, I don’t drink ‘regular’ tea at all! I do however have a couple of Bird & Blend’s fruit teas – although those are more fruity infusions than actual teas! It’s nice to have something else to drink hot that isn’t coffee all the time 🙂

I definitely like their fruit teas cold! I’m not a big fan of hot fruit tea though, I must admit. Their fruit teas also taste great brewed in lemonade rather than water if you’ve never tried that before!

Ooooh this is such an interesting idea for the freebie! I wish I liked more teas but I just go for a standard English 🙂 Here’s my TTT post – https://justreadjessie.blog/2025/10/14/top-ten-tuesday-books-i-wish-i-could-read-again-for-the-first-time/

Thank you! I used to just drink a standard cuppa as well but then I stopped drinking milk and started trying out different types of tea and fell irreversibly in love!
